Cedar City riders get a season most of Southern Utah does not. Run out to the desert flats west and north of town in spring and fall and it is a normal dusty, bright ride. Climb toward Brian Head and the high country once snow has set in and the ground throws a large share of the sunlight straight back up into the cab. Snow is one of the most reflective surfaces you can ride on, and ultraviolet intensity climbs with elevation on top of that, so a machine that felt fine at 5,800 feet in town gets genuinely harsh closer to 10,000. Summer runs up SR-14 through Cedar Canyon toward Cedar Breaks and Navajo Lake trade that glare for dust and hard overhead sun.

That combination is why we spec Cedar City side-by-sides differently than Washington County machines. The goal is knocking down heat and reflected glare without losing visibility on shaded snow, where an overly dark film makes it hard to read the surface ahead of you. Ceramic film does that better than a dyed film because its heat rejection does not depend on how dark it looks. We cut to the machine rather than adapting an automotive pattern, which matters on cabs that get pressure washed often after a muddy or slushy ride.
